IoT and connected devices

We build connected device systems: sensors and small computers that collect data where the work happens, and the platform that turns it into dashboards, alerts and records.

## What is an IoT system?

An IoT (Internet of Things) system connects physical devices, such as sensors, meters, machines or screens, to software over the internet. The devices measure or show something on site; the software stores the data, shows it in dashboards, sends alerts and lets you manage the devices from one place.

## What we build

- **Sensors and devices.** Sensors that measure energy use, temperature or machine status, connected to single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi.
- **Data collection.** Readings are sent to your platform at regular intervals and stored with time and location, so you can compare days, sites and machines.
- **Dashboards and alerts.** Live [dashboards](https://www.e-xperience.pt/solutions/dashboards) show what every device reports, and the platform can warn the right person when a value goes out of range.
- **Remote management.** Devices are configured and checked from the platform instead of on site. Our [digital signage](https://www.e-xperience.pt/solutions/digital-signage) network of more than 120 screens in three countries is managed this way.

## Where we use it ourselves

In our own office in Sintra, sensors monitor energy consumption as part of our [sustainability](https://www.e-xperience.pt/sustainability) work. The same approach applies to a production hall, a warehouse or a chain of shops. For Original Spot Design we connected face-recognition terminals through a Raspberry Pi to their attendance platform: read the [attendance case](https://www.e-xperience.pt/cases/original-spot-design-attendance).

## Connected to the rest of your software

IoT data is most useful next to the rest of your business data. Machine status can feed production planning in an [ERP platform](https://www.e-xperience.pt/solutions/erp-business-applications), and energy readings can sit beside costs in your reports. We run the [servers](https://www.e-xperience.pt/solutions/servers) the devices report to. [Contact us](https://www.e-xperience.pt/contact) to talk about what you want to measure.
